Jamie's Story
I started in surfacing at 20, and I have spent the 17 years since laying every kind of surface there is: tarmac drives on country houses, block-paved cul-de-sacs and courtyards, resin driveways, imprinted concrete, commercial car parks and lengths of private road. I have prepped ground in every condition the East Midlands throws up, worked to line and level on live sites, and reset ironwork so a car park finishes flush.
Over those years I learned the part that actually decides everything: it is the ground underneath that determines whether a surface lasts. Get the excavation, the sub-base and the falls right and a driveway or car park stays sound for years; rush it, and no amount of good tarmac on top will save it. That is the standard I built Paddway around. I set the business up as Paddway Roadworks Ltd at the start of 2026 to put a proper name and structure to work I had already been doing for years, and I still survey, quote and work every job myself.
What I set out to offer was a single expert who could handle the lot and stand behind it. Most firms do one or two things: a driveway specialist here, a car park firm there. I wanted homeowners and businesses across the three counties to be able to call one contractor for a tarmac drive, a block-paved courtyard, a resin finish, a commercial car park or a length of private road, and get the same standard and the same guarantee on all of it. That is what Paddway is, and it is why I put my name to every finish.

If anything is not right with the workmanship within three years, we put it right. It is the standard we hold ourselves to, in writing.
You are covered if anything goes wrong on your property while we work, so there is no risk sitting with you.
Proof of the skills and health-and-safety training to work properly and safely on site, whether domestic or commercial.
The New Roads and Street Works Act qualification, held on the national Street Works Qualifications Register. The law requires a qualified operative on site whenever street works are in progress, so Jamie can legally take on the road, highway and access work most driveway contractors cannot touch.
